Independent Study and Distance Learning Exams
Cost: $21.00 for UGA classes and $37.00 for non-UGA classes
Test availability: These tests are given by appointment only! Call UTS to
schedule your exam. Times available for appointments are: Monday through Friday,
8:30 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
Test Length: 3 hours
Summary: University Testing Services serves as one site where students enrolled
in UGA Independent Study courses are allowed to take their course-related mid-term
and final examinations. In order to take a test at University Testing Services an
appointment is required. Independent Study (IS) office policy is that all lessons
must have been submitted to their office before scheduling an exam. Also, exam
dates must be at least 10 calendar days from the date the appointment is made. For

If you are taking an independent/distance learning course through any outside
agency other than UGA you must complete the following steps:
Contact your institution and notify them of your intentions to take your exam
through University Testing Services, UGA.
Make arrangements for that institution to send the exam to the University

The institution should include any specific directions for administering and
returning the exam.
Contact University Testing Services to schedule an appointment. Appointments are made M-F on a first come basis. Tell the person scheduling the appointment what institution the exam will be coming from and that you have already notify the home institution of your intentions to take the exam within our facilities. You must also indicate the length of the exam and format (paper version or computer based). Please make appointments far enough in advance to ensure the arrival of your exam from your home institution.
Call University Testing Services (706-542-3183) at least 24 hours in advance to
make sure your exams has been received.
Arrive on time for your exam. Students who arrive late may be denied admission to the testing facilities. Make sure you bring cash or check for proctoring services and a valid photo I.D.
