Math Placement Exam

Cost: $20

Test availability: The exam is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Test Length: 45 minutes

Please note: Math Placement may only be taken once.

Results: Your test results will be available the next Tuesday morning after your test date. Your results will be mailed to your address as listed with the University in approximately ten days.

Transfer Students with math courses that DID NOT transfer as equivalent to UGA courses are encouraged to take the math placement test. No credit is given for exempted courses, but exemption of MATH 1113 or MATH 1101 may satisfy core and/or degree requirements.

Summary: A 26-question test administered during Orientation and at UTS is used to determine placement in mathematics courses. Students who score between 12 and 15 will exempt MATH 1101 (Mathematical Modeling) and may enroll in MATH 1113 (Pre-calculus).

Students who score 16 or higher will exempt MATH 1113 and may begin their University studies with MATH 2200 or MATH 2250 (Differential Calculus). No credit is given for exempted courses, but exemption of MATH 1113 or MATH 1101 may satisfy Core and/or Degree requirements.
