The Division of Academic Enhancement (DAE) offers a variety of academic support services for both entering and continuing students that are designed to promote the retention, progression, and graduation of all UGA students. For more information about these services, please go to dae.uga.edu.
The English department and the Division of Academic Enhancement require students with certain high school GPAs and test scores to take placement testing to determine the appropriate course level for the student. The Mathematics department requires ALL first year and transfer students to take their placement test to determine the appropriate course level for the student.

Students who used French or Spanish to satisfy their CPC foreign language requirement will not be allowed to register for 1001 in that language. If those students do not exempt 1001 and 1002, they must be placed into 1110.
Course credit received as a result of a score on a departmental foreign language placement test will not satisfy the General Education Core Curriculum requirements in Area IV, World Languages and Culture, Humanities and the Arts.
